50 Cent has had enough of what he's been seeing on social media.
50 Cent has been heavily regarded as one of the biggest social media trolls in hip-hop although, over the past few days, he has gotten serious and for good reason. George Floyd was recently killed by police in broad daylight and many are demanding justice. Protests have sparked all over the nation and 50 has been using his platform to speak out against brutality while also highlighting why change needs to happen immediately.
Unfortunately, his Instagram has been infiltrated by opportunistic bot accounts that are spreading fake news. This has forced him to completely turn off his Instagram comments. In fact, 50 is now urging people to go follow him on Twitter. With this latest statement in mind, it seems as though he will be favoring Twitter over the next little while.
Misinformation on social media has become a massive problem over the last few years, especially when it comes to political matters. There is a lot of conflicting information floating around and it's hard to really get a sense of what's real and what's fake. Now, the artist is making sure his fanbase doesn't get duped by an account with barely any followers.
Perhaps this is a trend we will continue to see as the protests march on. After all, factual reporting is needed more than ever right now.
