The track features the bouncy West Coast sound Mustard has been fine-tuning for years now, while Ty provides additional vocals to Ashanti's coos. the singer's last album Braveheart, arrived in 2014. While she has yet to announce a follow-up project, rumors have been circulating after she appeared to be working with Rae Sremmurd's Swae Lee on some new music. "Swae Lee x Ashanti, you know what it is," Swae captioned a recent photo of the two together.
Ashanti announced "Say Yes" when she was approached by a TMZ cameraman last month. "I have a new song coming out, it's call "Say Less" and I think that it sounds dope," she said. "I just mixed it in Atlanta. That's what I was doing actually in Miami, recording records."
Ty released his sophomore album Beach House 3 last month. The singer has become an increasingly common guest on other artists' song, which he commented on in a recent interview with HOT 97. "That just happened, I didn't know that, like, everyone was going to want me on their records," he said.
