Eren is having a hard time in the series premiere.
Attack on Titan is finally back for a third season. For those who may not know about this gruesome anime, it is one of the most violent and entertaining cartoons to ever be produced. Mankind lives behind sets of large walls after large monsters called Titans began to devour the world's population. Now, on the brink of extinction, one soldier's power may be the key to saving the human race. There are few things more gruesome than watching a giant humanoid monster eating another person, but the action in this anime is too gritty to look away.
The first episode of season three premiered today with English subtitles on Crunchyroll and Hulu. Funimation has announced that an English dub will be available next month, while Cartoon Network's Toonami will also get an English version of the third season this year as well. In the premiere episode, Eren is subject to Hange's testing, but a botched transformation leaves the hero without a face. According to Crunchyroll, this is the full synopsis for the third season:
"Eren Jaeger’s battle against the Titans rages on! After fighting the Female Titan, he has no time to rest as a hoard approaches Wall Rose. With his ferocious abilities and a new plan, Eren and his friends set out to face the Titans head-on. But as they prepare for war, they begin to unearth terrifying secrets. What are the Titans really and where do they get their power—and who’s really on their side?
As they begin investigating the danger hidden within the walls, a colossal reveal shakes them to the core! More Titan shifters are identified, and worse yet, a new Abnormal appears—the horrifying Beast Titan! Does humanity stand a chance at survival with no one to trust and a new evil on the horizon?"
