The pint-sized singer had pipes.
Ariana Grande found her lane in the music realm as a pop star who could actually sing, being compared to famed divas like Mariah Carey and Celine Dion. While her vocal tone differs from her idols, their influence clearly goes way back and the "god is a woman" artist shared some footage to prove it.
A couple of clips were uploaded to her social media starring a mini Ariana. The kid was filmed by her mother singing along to her favorite tunes while sitting in their car. In one of these clips, Ari selects the song she wants to sing, telling her mom "the next one" should be played as if she already knew the order of the CD they had popped in. The confident child then goes on to sings Celine's 1997 "The Reason."
Another clip features Ariana's mom accompanying her little songbird. The pair sings a duet, the 1997 song "Tell Him." "We still sing this," Ariana wrote. "She's still Barbara and still this stunning and cute if not more so."
"When I met Celine she told me, she was like, 'When I saw you, I peed!'" Ariana said on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show in 2016. "I'm just a big fan. I'm a really big fan."
