One of your favourite T.V. shows will be getting a longer storyline.
Fox's animated series Bob's Burgers will be hitting an even bigger screen come July 17th, 2020. The series that started in 2011 follows the lives and tribulations of the Belcher family. The man of the House, Bob Belcher, runs a hamburger shop with his wife Linda and three children Tina, Gene and Louise.
“We’re thrilled to be invited to bring Bob’s Burgers to the big screen,” show creator Loren Bouchard said, via Deadline. “We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show. We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colors and the sounds and the ever so slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob’s – but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?!”
“A Bob’s Burgers film fits perfectly with our initiative to redouble our family and animation efforts,” the Twentieth Century Fox Film chairman and CEO Stacey Snider said. “We’re grateful to [Fox Television Group chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden] for trusting us with this beloved property and we’re so excited to be working with Loren and his team.”
This big film news comes after the October 1st episode premiere of the eighth season. The cartoon won an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Series this year and won the same title in 2014.
Not too long ago a 112-song soundtrack to the show called The Bob's Burgers Music Album was released that consists of Bob's favourite tracks he plays throughout the episodes - most songs are only under two minutes. The soundtrack can really be appreciated if you are a true Bob's Burgers fan, more specifically a true Bob fan.
This film will be Fox's first theatrical release that is based off an animated series since The Simpsons Movie (2007) and Stewie Griffith: The Untold Story (2005) that had a straight to DVD release. A Family Guy film should be coming soon, hopefully.
