Since the early 2000s, Brooklyn's Wais P has been calling his music "pimp hop," and recently, that lifestyle seems to have landed him in some trouble with the law. As part of NYPD's "Bright Lights, Big City" campaign that aims to stamp out sex trafficking, the rapper was arrested on charges of promoting prostitution.

Initially brought into the Manhattan Supreme Court for a DWI, Wais was then apprehended on the sex trafficking charges. According to court documents obtained by NY Daily News, he “advanced and profited from prostitution by managing, supervising, controlling, and owning” a prostitution enterprise with two or more prostitutes.

He's currently being held without bail.
