On Charts Don't Lie this week we familiar faces, along with one that may seem completely random: Flo Rida. We'll get to that one in a minute. As for the regulars, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis see their best chart peak this week since they debuted at #2, with a leap from #16 to #4. Once more, it seems like promotion is on the rapper and producer's side, as an appearance on Saturday Night Live seems to have given a boost, perhaps not only to their single "Thrift Shop," but also to their album. Next we have to wonder about how the mega pop rapper, Flo Rida, made his way on to the charts at #35 this week, from a ranking in the 100s the previous week. We're honestly not sure what the reason is-- do you guys have any thoughts? 

1)       Macklemore & Ryan Lewis— The Heist: Believe it or not, but this duo is back at the top of the Billboard charts. From the #16 spot last week, they rose back to the #4 spot this week. It’s pretty incredible that they’ve been able to maintain and surpass their numbers week after week. Every now and then they seem to lower but then something happens—aka they sell another million record of “Thrift Shop” – and there they are, back at the top of the Billboard 200. They moved 43,773 units over the past week.

2)        Rihanna—Unapologetic:  Rihanna stays in place this week, not moving up or down. The #8 spot is obviously working well for her, she still sold around 28k over the past week, with only a 1% decrease in sales.

3)        Kendrick Lamar—good kid, m.A.A.d city: K. Dot was sitting at #22 last week but this week he’s at #27. He saw a slight decrease in sales, similar to Rih Rih, with only a 2% decrease. There will still 15,886 copies of his debut LP sold.

4)         Flo Rida— Wild Ones: Yup, you’re reading this right.Popstar/rapper Flo Rida’s album Wild Ones was released in July 2012 and has somehow made its way onto the charts. Not only that, it’s sitting at #35, having sold 14,036 copies. To what can we attribute this?

5)        Alicia Keys—Girl On Fire: The “Girl On Fire” is apparently losing some of her heat, as this week she went down ten spots, from #18 to #38. That’s a big decrease in sales for the vocalist, 40% in fact, with around 13k sold. We’ll have to see if she continues to drop next week.

6)       A$AP Rocky— Long.Live.A$AP: The New York native is about to head on tour with Rihanna which is sure to spark more album sales for the rapper. Nonetheless, he’s still maintaining on his own, with only a 1% decrease in sales this week. The rapper moved exactly 13,000 copies, and lands at #41.

This week Bruno Mars was the chart-topper, with Unorthodox Jukebox having an incredible 97% increase in sales, moving around 97k thus getting the album to the #1 spot. In single news, Drake's "Started From The Bottom" has spent it's second week straight at #1 on the Weekly Combined Streams Playlist with 1.5 million streams of his single. Three other rappers have singles that were streamed over 1 million times, including Lil Wayne's "Love Me"(#2), Will.i.am's radio-friendly "Scream & Shout" (#3) and of course, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop" (#4).
