We're only one game into the NFL season and Adidas has already created waves with a couple of special edition Yeezy cleats for the likes of Von Miller, DeAndre Hopkins and Adrian Peterson. A couple of Nike athletes are ready to make a splash on the first NFL Sunday of the season as well, which happens to be on September 11th.

New York Giants wide receivers, Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz will be wearing a couple of different patriotic "9/11" custom Nike spikes on Sunday when the G-Men do battle with the Cowboys. Both wide outs have one special edition pair of cleats for the pre-game warmups and another for the actual game, both of which serve as a tribute to the FDNY and NYPD.

Kickasso, the man behind the custom cleats, had this to say about the patriotic cleats for Beckham and Cruz.

“It’s a special cleat for a couple reasons. I mean opening day is on 9/11,” said Kickasso owner, Troy Cole. “And Odell wanted to pay tribute to the heroes of 9/11, and not toward the tragedy aspect, with the falling building and the heroes all around kind of helping and saving people. That is why it’s kind of special and going to be pretty cool.”

Additionally, Giants players will be wearing these star-spangled gloves this Sunday in Dallas.
