Chief Keef is once again in the hot seat, no doubt a familiar place. The rapper is facing a new lawsuit today, for neglecting to show up for a charity event for breast cancer last June, but taking the event organizer's deposit nonetheless.
Chief Keef has actually avoided being in the news for legal troubles as of late, although that's not to say he hasn't been busy. Following the announcement of hisÂ Bang 3 mixtape, Keef was spotted with Kanye West possibly working on new material for the tape. Nonetheless drama always seems to find the Chi-town native.
This latest piece of news, reported by TMZ, says that Kim Productions paid the rapper a $15,000 deposit in order for him to perform at a RapCure cancer benefit this past June. The remaining balance, $10,000, was to be paid out at the event.
The day before the event took place Kim Productions say that Keef asked for $2,500 to cover travel expenses. The money was wired to him, and Keef's manager claimed the rapper was on his way. The issue is,Â Keef never showed up for the event. Thus the event organizers were forced to cancel the show and refund all the ticket holders, so they went from the possibility of raising money to owing money.
Now the company has filed a lawsuit for $26,000 against the Interscope signee, this includes the money paid to Keef as well as all the extra costs of theÂ theater, lights, equipment, advertising and the refunded tickets.
