City Girls faced a setback earlier this year when JT turned herself in to Miami's Federal Detention Center on fraud charges. She was initially expected to be out by 2020, but Yung Miami shared some great news earlier today about the rapper's release.

It looks like JT will be out before we know it. Yung Miami took to Twitter to reveal that her City Girls partner will be out before the end of the year. "JT will be home in December," she wrote on Twitter. JT was initially supposed to be released from prison on March 21, 2020.

Despite JT's incarceration, City Girls thrived throughout the summer. Drake sampled the duo on his hit single, "In My Feelings" and also included Yung Miami in the song's video while she rocked a "Free JT" shirt. Shortly after, City Girls released their own remix to the song. Drake's co-sign of JT and Yung Miami also helped the incarcerated member delay her prison check-in.

"Since the sentencing, the Defendant and her two-girl music group has experienced a meteoric rise in stardom," JT's attorney explained to the judge earlier this year. "This is due to a recent cosign from Drake (other noticeable cosigns include Migos, DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Rick Ross and Trina). It will take three weeks to do the work that needs to be done and then the Defendant can surrender as her first album and its promotion will be done."

Although the judge denied the initial request for a 30-day delay, JT's check-in date was pushed back to June 29th in order to attend the BET Awards.
