Many gamers have at least one classic platformer that sparks heavy doses of nostalgia, and for older PlayStation veterans, it's likely that mantle goes to Crash Bandicoot. In the late nineties, Naughty Dog launched their Crash Bandicoot franchise, a series that spawned Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped as the mainline trilogy. Following the release of Crash Team Racing in 1999, Naughty Dog moved on from Crash, and the original trilogy was left to conclude on the PlayStation One.

Though other studios attempted to carry on the Crash Bandicoot series, the magic of the original three was never quite captured. Following the release of the remade and remastered N. Sane Trilogy, which launched on the PlayStation 4 in 2017, there appeared to be a renewed interest in the loveable yet slightly dim-witted marsupial. So much so that developer Toys For Bob, who helped bring Spyro The Dragon to life for its own remaster in 2018, has officially announced Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time.

The first mainline title in the Crash series since Warped, It's About Time is slated to be released on October 2nd, 2020, for PS4, Xbox, and Xbox Series 1 -- a PS5 version has yet to be confirmed. Should you be one of those sporting a healthy dose of Bandicoot nostalgia, feel free to check out the official announcement trailer for Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time below.
