D'Angelo Russell was caught in a pretty public snitching feud that included Nick Young and Iggy Azalea. This all went down while Russell was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers and eventually forced him to lose favor with many of his teammates. There was no chemistry on those Lakers squads and Russell was eventually traded to Brooklyn, where he has thrived and has been able to come into his own. In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Russell explained how good the trade was for his career.

"I can’t imagine what they’re trying to block out," Russell explained. “If [the Lakers] didn’t let me go then, they were gonna let me go now, and I’d be going through what they’re going through. Best thing that happened in my career."

The Nets star has kind of stayed connected to Los Angeles, as he reached out to LeBron James for some advice on all things basketball, but more specifically, leadership.

"I actually reached out to LeBron this summer," Russell said. "‘What’s the best thing for becoming consistent?’ He’s like, ‘You have to be prepared mentally to go out and dominate every game, and then your teammates will follow that.’”

Brooklyn is currently sixth in the Eastern Conference with a record of 30-29.
