"I want to give back to the young world."
For many sneakerheads, yesterday, March 26th, wasn't just an ordinary Sunday - it was "Air Max Day" Nike's annual celebration of their Air Max sneakers which was highlighted by the release of the Air VaporMax as well as some classic Air Maxes.
In honor of Nike's holiday, DJ Khaled took some time out of his schedule while filming a movie in Atlanta to surprise 75 students at Maynard Jackson High School with free pairs of Nike Air Max sneakers.
DJ Khaled partnered up with Champs Sports to recognize students who have been "excelling in class, helping their community, and on the sports field as part of the retailer's "Game On Air" campaign."
Khaled also gave the kids some major keys to go along with their new kicks.
"Whatever you do, do something that you love. I loved working at Champs because I loved sports, the fashion and the culture."
"Working at Champs connected to me being a mogul now. That’s what I want to tell the young world. We’re all moguls. We’re all bosses."
