We know that DMX has been working a lot lately with his former Ruff Ryders collaborator Swizz Beatz, and Swizz is apparently executive producing X's new album. There haven't been very many updates on that album though, but in September DMX was spotted with Swizz (and AraabMUZIK) in the studio once more, getting us excited to hear what sounds the two have been cooking up, and making us wonder if it'll be like the good ol' days. While this isn't technically a Murder Inc throwback one of you has been begging for, it's somehow connected right? By a third degree, 'cause, you know, X was affiliated with Ja who was affiliated with Murder Inc. DMX's aggressive flow and attitude contrasts the overall positive message on "Stop Being Greedy," which was the second single released off X's acclaimed debut album, It's Dark and Hell Is Hot. With Jahlil Beats recently listing off his top 10 producers for us, and both Dame Grease and Swizz Beatz making the list, we had DMX on our minds. This particular record was produced by P.K. and Dame Grease.
I could flip that flow, I could stick that ho
I could get that dough, you know I'm with that yo
And the thing about the shit I came through, I haven't seen
But when it gets dark, it's like a nigga's havin' dreams
All nightmares, the light dares to desert me
Got me like everybody wants to hurt me
