Donald Trump is salty about Jay-Z's political reproach.
Donald Trump is still bitter over comments Jay-Z made during a 2016 rally in support of Hilary Clinton's presidential campaign. Clinton tapped the hip hop mogul to perform in front of Democrat supporters on November 4th 2016, in the hopes his endorsement would incite young Black voters. The Jay-Z gig in Cleveland was one of many showcases arranged by the Clinton's, including a Jennifer Lopez show in Miami, Bon Jovi performances in Pennsylvania & Florida, and a Katy Perry performance in Pennsylvania.
In front of Trump supporters in Tennessee Yesterday, the President addressed purported domestic threats posed by MS-13 and the state of Mexico. He made sure to revive plans to construct a wall encompassing the border with "Red Shirts" in attendance. Trump bragged about the numbers he pulls for his speaking engagements, with the crowd nodding in approval. He claimed that Hilary Clinton could only pull crowds this large with a name like Jay-Z on the bill. He then made a direct comparison between his crowd appeal and a prospective Jay-Z concert, claiming he did numbers without grumbling or using "filthy" language.
“He’d stand up before those crowds and he’d use the f-word, and Hillary would sit back ‘I’m in trouble, I’m in trouble, oy please don’t have him use that kind of language anymore.’ And then he’d finish and everyone would leave, and she’d be standing up making a speech to 400 people," recapped Trump to those in attendance.
Trump probably has a list of political dissidents compiled, with Jay-Z somewhere at the heart of his agenda. It was Jay-Z after all, who most fervently his Prison Reform Summit, going out of his way to dissuade Meek Mill from attending, after the Philly rapper was packed and ready to go. Evidently Donald has a selective memory when it comes to abusive language.
