The "Fast & Furious" universe gets bigger.
Director David Leitch (Deadpool 2, John Wick, Atomic Blonde) is set to bring the first Fast & Furious spin-off to life. Hobbs And Shaw will star Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham as the titular characters who team up with Vin Diesel and company. This time though, Diesel, Tyrese, Ludacris, and the others will be relinquished to off-screen duties. Somehow, when Dwayne Johnson first joined the Fast & Furious franchise for the fifth installment, I had a feeling he would take over. As one of Hollywood's hardest working and highest paid actors, Johnson has several franchises in the palm of his hand. The wrestler turned actor took to Instagram to post a first look at Hobbs And Shaw, and it's everything you would expect.
In the black and white filtered photo, Hobbs and Shaw stand face to face. Their intense glares sit somewhere in between hatred and mutual respect. "We either gonna get along or we gonna get it on. Fuck getting along," wrote Johnson as the caption to the picture. "Weâre havinâ a blast disrupting the norm to deliver something fresh, cool, fun and bad ass for the fans." Hobbs and Shaw will have their hands full, as Idris Elba will be playing the film's villain.
