Floyd Mayweather labels McGregor a quitter, and Canelo a cheater, as he asserts himself the GOAT.
Soon after signing his $365 million contract with Golden Boy Promotions, Canelo Alvarez issued a direct challenge for a rematch to "retired" boxing great Floyd Mayweather, whom he lost to in 2013. But now that he's leveled up a few notches, he fancies himself an odds-on favorite against his elder, except for the fact Floyd doesn't seem all too interested in a rematch.
In response to the challenge, Floyd scoffed at Canelo's $375 million ballpark figure over 11 years, daring him to do better before he comes puffing his chest. "It takes me 36 mins or less to make $300 million plus. It literally takes me 1 night and 1 fight to make what you might make in 5 years and 11 fights! So really, who's still winning? You do the math," he answered rhetorically.
Floyd also stated that he felt Connor "McQuitter" was a far superior striker to Canelo. He also reminded Canelo to double check his urine samples for "cheating fluids." Though Canelo's story of a faulty meat sample kind of checks out, Floyd Mayweather has a history of denigrating known cheaters, even suspected cheaters like Manny Pacquiao who were never caught in a soluble manner.
Floyd Mayweather's "0" would be at risk against a spritely Canelo, but never say never. Stranger things have occurred.
