Frank Ocean wants to be removed from Travis Scott's "Carousel."
Frank Ocean is pulling a 180 on Travis Scott over last minute changes he undertook on "Carousel." The 2nd track on Astroworld brings to light a chorus and a verse from the singer, except alterations were done without his consent. Ocean caught wind of the change when the LP dropped on August 3rd.
Apparently, Frank Ocean's auto-tune rendering was pitched higher than agreed upon in the final consultation. Travis made the pitch change within the 3rd verse, which both men perform interchangeably. This is but a theory, the truth is wrapped in legal paperwork.
The issue has already become a legal matter, according toTMZ. Both artist's legal teams have been summoned into action, following Frank's cease and desist order to see his part(s) removed from the song. Washing himself clean of "Carousel" would likely result in the song's complete dissolution, considering the integral part Ocean plays in the songwriting process.
TMZ has learned that Travis Scott is unmoved by the court summon, and steadfastly refuses to make any changes, much less remove the song from his album. Ocean's misunderstanding with Scott could result in the singer becoming more reclusive than ever before. Astroworld is by and large the best received album in his catalog to date.
