Gunna's amazingly-titled Wunna album is arriving very soon-- like end-of-the-week soon-- and we couldn't be excited for a new set of earworm bangers to get us through this quarantine season. Ahead of the album, he's really only delivered one single (until today), titled "Skybox." "Skybox" was a sleek and airy offering, and now that we have the title track for Wunna, we can really get an idea as to the direction Gunna will be heading on this new album. It sounds fresh, hypnotic, and minimal-- including the lyrics which feel like sporadic bouts of word association. There's no proper hook on here, with a semi-proper verse squeezed into the middle of the song, where Gunna raps: "I'm not a regular pedestrian," giving a nod to one of his personal favorite songs from Drip Season 3. It's inventive and interlude-esque, but feels appropriate as an introduction to the album. The production comes from Gunna's frequent collaborator, Turbo.
Take a listen to the new single and let us know if you're excited.
Gunna will be releasing a documentary with Amazon Music in two parts, and the first part is actually dropping today at 12pm PST/3pm ET, so stay tuned for that. The second part arrives on May 19th, at the same time.
I fucked a bitch on the jet
Keep a baguette on her neck
She only call me for sex
Speed in a Vet
I still got my foot on their neck
