It was inevitable that DC's Batman Vs. Superman would be a bad movie. If you put a nearly-invincible alien with laser eyes up against a guy who knows martial arts and has a lot of money you don't exactly have a fair fight, and you definitely don't have a compelling movie. It's not Henry Cavill's fault the film was bad (he was in the recent Mission Impossible and that was great), but because of how the movie flopped, the people at Warner Bros have been a little weird when asked about the prospect of rehiring Cavill: “We have a great relationship and great respect for Henry Cavill that continues to remain unchanged. Additionally, we have made no current decisions regarding any upcoming Superman films.”

According to none other than Aquaman (Jason Momoa), all this speculation is baseless. When asked if Cavill would leave the role, he replied: "he's absolutely not. He loves the character and he's not. One hundred percent."

Superman is not the most complex role and the most anyone can really do is look the part, which Cavill most definitely does, let's just hope we don't get another Ben Affleck Batman.
