The creator and star of HBO's hit series "Insecure" stopped by "The Ellen Show" to talk the Emmys.
Celebrated YouTube personality and actress Issa Rae went on "The Ellen Show" earlier today to talk Emmy-buzz for her hit show "Insecure," now in its third season on HBO. To commemorate the series' critical acclaim, and hopes at finally nabbing a win at tonight's ceremony, the star brought out a pair of shots to share with Ellen.
Rae struggled to get the shots open, to which Ellen joked that she had perhaps applied "too much lotion" before coming on the show. The television host was rebuffed by Rae saying she didn't "wanna be ashy on 'Ellen." In addition to talking "Insecure" and Rae's breakout-Youtube series "Awkward Black Girl," Ellen took time to roast Rae's claim that she wanted to be "a combination of Oprah, Diddy and [Ellen herself]" with a poorly mashed photo of the four celebrities, complete with a pretty substantial beard.
To round out her appearance on the show, Rae talked the relatable struggle of having credit cards and being tricked by low monthly payments. Find the full clip from Ellen's YouTube channel below.
