London rapper J Hus pleaded guilty to carrying a knife in public.
U.K. rapper J Hus has "fully accepted his actions were careless" after he was caught with a blade at a shopping center in London. Hus was sentenced to eight months in jail after he pleaded guilty to carrying a knife in public, BBC reports. The rapper was arrested earlier this year after he and his girlfriend were pulled over by police who claimed they smelt cannabis coming out of their vehicle. The rapper admitted to the police that he had a 10cm folding knife on him which prompted his arrest.

Hus was initially denied bail, but was freed from jail a few weeks later after he posted £100K bond. Since then, he's maintained a low-profile in the public eye. Hus initially pled not guilty to possession of a bladed article in a public place, but later changed his plea in October.
During his sentencing, the judge said that she wouldn't be holding up to her responsibilities if she didn't send him to jail. She said that he was a "role model" to many. However, she said that he "failed" to leave his life on the streets behind him, adding, "This, in such a young life, is the fourth occasion when you have gone out armed with a knife."
Hus was previously convicted for carrying a knife. The court said Hus has six previous convictions stemming from 10 different offences from 2011 - 2016.
