Jay Rock's been putting in work for a long time. He was the first artist signed to Top Dawg before anyone even know the label. He's gone through his own struggles within the music industry but none of that has stopped him from prospering. Just last week, Top Dawg Ent. and Kendrick Lamar released a new cut from Black Panther: The Album with "King's Dead" which had Jay Rock, Kendrick, James Blake and Future on one track. While the track was also announced as the first single of Jay Rock's upcoming album, it also marks another first for him.

Billboard reports that "King's Dead" has officially charted on the Billboard Hot 100 which makes it Jay Rock's first entry on the chart ever. After dropping on January 12th, it debuted on the chart at no. 91 and it's likely to keep climbing up. The song is currently sitting at #36 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop which makes it his second song to ever enter on those charts, the first being Kendrick Lamar's "Money Trees."

Following the release of "King's Dead," Jay Rock confirmed that his third studio album was completely done and it's looking like it'll be the next project TDE focuses on after Black Panther: The Album drops. He's yet to confirm a title or a release date but it's looking like we'll be receiving it in the fall.

While Rock gears up to release his upcoming album, the whole TDE roster will be touring together on the "Championship Tour" this spring. So it's looking like Jay Rock's album is coming at a perfect time.
