Kanye West is a hot topic of discussion following his rant on Saturday Night Live. His relevance in the media is ramping up due to the announcement of his meeting with Donald Trump at the White House this week. Don Lemon broached the subject with a panel during his show on CNN last night.

The discussion generally tilted towards negative opinions of the rapper. One critique involved Yeezy's intellect. Bakari Sellers, who was part of Lemon's guests, commented on how the artist often speaks on issues despite his ignorance of the topic at hand.

"It's that anti-intellectualism simply isn't cool [...] We're not sending Kanye to the White House to talk about these issues because he can't [...] He doesn't have that depth."

Sellers drove his point with a humoristic reference. The white man on the panel was shook by the Chris Rock quote.

“Kanye West is what happens when negroes don’t read”

Another panelist expressed that Ye is on his way to the loss of support from the Black community. Tara Setmayer said that he has become a kind of joke as a "token negro of the Trump administration."

"Listen, black folks are about to trade Kanye West in the racial draft. [Kanye’s] an attention whore, like the president."
