Kehlani has had a pretty solid 2017 thusfar. While she's been around since 2014 and dropped two mixtapes since then, her debut album was the project she needed to solidify herself as an artist in this landscape. It might be because she's put her vulnerability out in the open for everyone to see. However, those same moments correlate to the music she releases, giving everything she does a much more personal feel. She's been through a lot in the public eye. However, she continues to prove that her creativity bares no boundaries.
Today, she drops her latest single "Honey," a completely acoustic joint that allow Kehlani's vocals to shine brighter than the production. While Kehlani's strength as a songwriter is her honesty, she continues to use that to her advantage while she expresses the love that she has for her best-friend-turned-girlfriend. It's another detailed song through the eyes of Kehlani. It's a change of pace compared to what she offered on her album. However, it's still another tune from Kehlani that continues to set herself apart from her contemporaries.
Aside from releasing new music, her debut album seems to keep her busy simultaneously. She's been on the road this whole year, promoting her album SweetSexySavage. While she's wrapped up the majority of the dates on her tour schedule, she still has a few more to go at the end of the month. Kehlani will kick off the last little leg of her tour in New Orleans on October 27th before wrapping up the tour up completely on November 19th in Mexico City.
I like my woman like I like my money,
Green, a little jealous
Cause I'm a beautiful wreck
A colorful mess
but I'm funny
