Lloyd drops the boogie-inspired video for "Excited."
Lloyd was the latest singer/rapper to make good use of an S.O.S. Band sample, so much so that he let the seminal boogie record influence the video shoot that went along with the song. The "Excited" video is like a compendium of good ideas, new and old. Lloyd spent the bulk of Tru exploring his newfound responsibilities as a father. Most importantly, the album communicates the middle ground for a sex symbol facing "social progression." Even George Clooney had to give up the playbook once his twins were born. Lloyd, on the other hand, is still devising a plan so he can escape with both. Say what you will, but I don't open up my shirt unless I'm in the throes of a heatwave. Mind you I'm not Lloyd, and let's just leave it at that.
Lloyd's choreography hasn't lost a step. His outfit changes always speak to a sudden burst of youthful energy, and why not go the distance with unbridled enthusiasm. Lloyd's video for "Excited" really exemplifies his youthful demeanor, but more importantly, it exemplifies his general openness as a sensory being present in "nature" if you will.
