Michael B. Jordan is making big moves.
According to Variety, Creed star Michael B. Jordan has been commissioned to star and produce the film adaptation of The Silver Bear for Lionsgate. The story is based on a book series by Derek Haas which details the life and crimes of an assassin.
The film was announced on Wednesday and will see Jordan in the leading role, a character referred to by some as Silver Bear. Silver bear is an assassin who finds himself under the employment of a dangerously powerful politician who one day dreams of becoming president. The author of the book series has been a screenwriter for projects such as Wanted, 3:10 to Yuma.
Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chairman Joe Drake made a statement sharing, “The Silver Bear is the kind of story that needs to be experienced on the big screen and Michael is the perfect movie star to inhabit the skin of this dynamic character and take us into the cinematic world of Columbus." He went on to add, “We’re incredibly honored that Michael and Nickel City chose Lionsgate to partner with in bringing this exciting property to life.” The script was written by Frank Baldwin who has worked on The Godmother, but a director for the film has yet to be confirmed.
