First look at the NBA's opening week schedule of nationally televised games.
The NBA has officially announced several highly anticipated games for the upcoming season, including the opening night double-header, Christmas Day, and MLK Day games.
The 2018-19 NBA season will tip off on October 16 with a TNT double-header starting with the Boston Celtics hosting the Philadelphia 76ers at 8pm ET, followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder taking on the defending champion Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena. As always, the Warriors will receive their championship rings in a special ceremony prior to tip-off.
The league's Christmas Day slate leaked last night, but the NBA has now officially announced the five-game tv schedule that includes the following:
Milwaukee Bucks vs New York Knicks (12:00pm ET, ESPN)
OKC Thunder vs Houston Rockets (3:00pm ET, ABC)
Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics (5:30pm ET, ABC)
Los Angeles Lakers vs Golden State Warriors (8:00pm ET, ESPN & ABC)
Portland Trail Blazers vs Utah Jazz (10:30pm ET, ESPN)
Martin Luther King Jr. Day will feature the following slate of nationally televised games:
New Orleans Pelicans vs Memphis Grizzlies (5:30pm ET, TNT)
Houston Rockets vs Philadelphia 76ers (8:00pm ET, TNT)
Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Lakers (10:30pm ET, TNT)
Some other notable nationally televised games include LeBron's first game as a member of the Lakers on October 18 in Portland and Kawhi Leonard's first home game as a member of the Raptors vs the Celtics on October 19. Check out the full list of announced games in the tweets embedded below.
