It's called "Kingdom."
Although most of the talk around Netflix right now is centred around Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, their new "interactive event," the streaming company has much more on the way for those willing to look past interactive entertainment.
One of these upcoming shows, called Kingdom, will come out on the 25th of January and seems to be intent on weaselling its way into the spot left behind by the hiatus of The Walking Dead, cable's most popular show. Kingdom is apparently set in the "Joseon Dynasty," a very large window of time (1392-1897), and will be about the disintegration of the royal family and a zombie plague. The synopsis:
In a kingdom defeated by corruption and famine, a mysterious rumor of the king’s death spreads, as does a strange plague that renders the infected immune to death and hungry for flesh. The crown prince, fallen victim to a conspiracy, sets out on a journey to unveil the evil scheme and save his people.
The trailer for the show was released on new year's eve and doesn't skimp on the haunting moments, like a mom-zombie attacking and eating her child, or a pile of zombies crawling over each other to eat a woman who looks to be suffocating under the weight. Watch the trailer below:
