The latest episode of OVO SOund Radio will feature the Canadian and Japanese mainstays.
As OVO Sound Radio returns with another installment of its show, listeners will be gifted with special guest mixes from DJ Charlie B and Mighty Crown in conjunction with the regularly scheduled set from OVO’s Oliver El-Khatib.
For those unfamiliar with either name, Charlie B is a deeply embedded name in the music scene in Toronto, collaborating with the likes of Drake, The Weeknd, Wiz Khalifa, Tory Lanez, Tyga, and Future both on the stage and in the studio. As for Mighty Crown, the Japanese crew, consisting of members Masta Simon, Sami T, Ninja, and Cojie, has been crafting dancehall and reggae sounds with a career dated as far back as the early 1990s.
Mighty Crown’s appearance on the show arrives on the heels of a new OVO lookbook, which debuted earlier in the month, featuring Mighty Crown as they sported new OVO merch. Shot by Liam MacRae, the lookbook’s direction was focused on the incorporation golden trophies, similar to the aesthetic presented on the newest OVO Sound Radio artwork.
Per usual, we’ll be keeping our ears peeled for any exclusives or surprise drops during episode 62. Though there isn’t much to consciously anticipate, right now, fans are (im)patiently awaiting that Drake and Lil Baby collaboration. The cut was initially previewed during the Preme album release party in Atlanta’s Empire nightclub, but no official word has arrived of just when and where the track will land.
