Quavo wasn't happy about DJ Drama ignoring the Migos when speaking about the legacy of ATL rap on The Breakfast Club.
During his recent interview with The Breakfast Club, DJ Drama spoke on the enduring strength of the Atlanta hip-hop scene, naming some of the city's most influential artists past and present, albeit with one glaring omission. "If we take the OutKast’s, the Ludacris’s, the T.I.’s, the Jeezy’s, and the Gucci’s, and the Future’s, and the Chainz’s, and the Thug’s, you know, it’s in a good place,” said Drama. That statement didn't sit well with Quavo, who feels that one can't mention the leaders of Atlanta rap culture and ignore the trio he mans along with Offset and Takeoff: The Migos.
Quavo ignited the dispute by tweeting at Drama, "How Dear You MENTION Atlanta Rap Culture And Not Mention Migos We Think That's Kinda Disrespectful MY UP NORTH BROTHA." Drama and Quavo proceeded to have a quick back and forth, but the tweets of the Gangsta Grillz DJ have since been deleted.
"This is me Dram, same 1 that said the whole rap game took Migos style," wrote Drama, before accusing Quavo of having a "short memory." Still, Quavo was fed up with Drama for not giving Migos a proper shout-out while on The Breakfast Club. "STILL THO U NOT SAYIN THAT WE HELP THE MOVEMENT AND CULTURE OF MUSIC AND THE WAY IT SOUND TODAY!!!" he exclaimed.
Drama then asked Quavo why he was coming at him and not the Breakfast Club hosts DJ Envy and Charlamagne. The DJ cooled off with his next tweet, telling the Migos hook man that he doesn't have any beef with him and that he'll be at Means Street Studios should Quavo want to talk to him face-to-face.
Quavo's next response is somewhat unclear, though he seemed to suggest that he and Drama go way back, before his group got a cosign from Gucci Mane, perhaps. He then took a shot at The Breakfast Club, and to Charlamagne in particular, tweeting at "Tha God," "WE KNO @cthagod gone Run Tho!!!"
