His court date is scheduled for later this month.
Surviving R. Kelly included testimonies from many women who were affected by the R&B icon's actions, along with part of his entourage and other witnesses. The docuseries' production also got hold of some Kelly family members. Bruce Kelly, one of the singer's brothers, gave his interview from behind bars. Viewers of the controversial program may have noticed the man's prison jumpsuit as he spoke on R. Kelly's sex scandal and preference for younger women.
Oxygen received confirmation on Friday of Bruce's legal situation: "Bruce Kelly is currently incarcerated at Chicago’s Cook County jail for theft, burglary, possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding arrest warrant, Sam Randall, the communications director at the Cook County Sheriff's Office confirmed...His bond is currently set at $100,000."
Bruce appeared in the Lifetime series as the only real R. Kelly sympathizer thus far. He shrugged off the allegations concerning underage girls defending the illegal fetish as a simple preference. "Robert likes younger women. You have people who have fetishes about different things,” Bruce said during his interview. “I like older women. Go figure, you know. But that’s just a preference... Everyone has preferences. So what is the big deal? What's the big issue with my brother?”
