"Countin Up" is a whole mood.
Rico Nasty returned with a solid mixtape last week. The newly signed Atlantic Records artist offers us yet another blessing through the visual treatment of her track "Countin Up." The Kenny Beats-produced song bumps hard and the video lives up to it. The aesthetic is reminiscent of early 2000s videos, a kind of Missy/TLC melange. Even so, Rico Nasty serves a unique flavor.
She first comes through a desolate lot wearing a deep purple jumpsuit, shimmering glitter and matching gloves included. A bodega makes up the second location. Then she comes alive under gel-colored lights and hops into a fast ride. Since she raps about securing the bag, stacks of cash make a couple of low-key appearances. The "watch me make it rain" trope isn't overdone though. Rico manages to keep up a high level of excitement in how she performs on camera. She flaunts her balance of sex appeal and nasty with ease. Can someone call XXL and tell them they been sleep? After that, catch Nasty on our Fire Emoji playlist on Spotify.
