Not content with her growing presence in the fashion world, Rihanna is set to dip her toes back into the acting world next year. A new report from Variety has confirmed that Rihanna will be starring in the upcoming movie Annette alongside Adam Driver.

Amazon Studios purchased the rights to the film, which is a “music drama” about a stand-up comedian who must raise his two year old daughter after the child’s mother passes away. The already-sad storyline seems like more potential Oscar material for Amazon, which recently won Academy Awards for Manchester By The Sea and The Salesman.

It is unclear what role Rihanna will play in the film, but her acting experience is limited. Her biggest roles have been in Battleship from 2012 and in the most recent season of Bates Motel. Driver will be reprising his role as Kylo Ren in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Look for Annette to release in 2018.
