Rihanna's new music is closer than ever.
Finally, word from someone who is actually working behind the scenes with Rihanna on her upcoming tape has given us just a little glimpse of what we can expect. Rihanna hasn't dropped off any solo music since 2016's Anti and although we've been patient as she kills it with her beauty and lingerie line, we're all really here for one thing, her music.
Riri's vocal producer Kuk Harrell, who has worked with the singer on her last album and also co-wrote "Umbrella" and "Only Girl (In the World)," answered some questions from Rihanna's fans on Instagram. "How's R9?" someone asked Kuk on Instagram, Iol reports. "R9 is great. R9 is amazing. It's incredible, And that's all I'm going to say," he replied.
From what we've heard before, Rihanna's upcoming tape is said to be a double disk kind of offering.
"Rihanna wasn’t happy with how her last album performed – even though she loved how it turned out, she knows she needs a new project full of smash hits to avoid two back-to-back flops," a source previously stated. “She’s currently recording two albums – one full of chart-friendly songs, and another made up of moody and experimental tracks – and is considering releasing a double disc if she feels the songs won’t mesh well on the same album.”
