It's safe to say that the past few months have been a bonafide breakout period for Nigerian-Canadian singer and rapper TOBi. After captivating ears with his "City Blues" track, his first release since joining Sony's Same Plate Entertainment imprint, TOBi has slowly pushed put a growing catalog of burning singles that have led up to his STILL full-length creation.
The project is an intricate breakdown of the complexities of black men's experiences throughout the globe, a feat successfully undertaken thanks to a background studying biology and psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo.
"I speak the language of music -- like, I've been writing poetry and verses and songs since I was eight years old," TOBi tells Billboard. "They were rudimentary songs at first, of course, but it's just always been my go to. It's been instinctive for me to just write a song."
