An argument over Nelly and Drake's success has exposed yet another generational divide in rap fans.
While no one seems to be able to determine where it started, Nelly Vs. Drake was the hot topic on Twitter today. For the most part, it was an argument over gauging the success of the two massively popular artists -- which, given the fact that they came up in different eras, isn't the easiest thing to determine. Younger audiences who didn't experience Nelly at his peak were quicker to dismiss the St. Louis rapper, but those who lived through the undeniable Country Grammar-Nellyville run were quick to point to Nelly's Diamond-selling debut, and the massive influence he had at the time. Both band-aids and the infamous "Tip Drill" swipe were presented as trump cards, but Drake supporters weren't altogether convinced.
