Although it is the holidays, rappers never stop putting in work. Rappers love to release shit on holidays specifically, and this year was no different. Quite a few artists came through with big records in the spirit of Xmas, but there were also some smaller gems which we're shining light on in Underrated Audio.

Stat Quo dropped off an ode to OutKast using the group’s name for the title, last Saturday, and it’s real nice. DeUno lays down the production which is kinda OutKast-ish in its weirdness, and Stat makes sure to drop plenty references to the duo, with a hook that claims he’s an outkast. Ain’t a thang but a chicken wing.
As Vic Mensa prepares himself for what will likely be a crazy year, as his buzz continues to grow and grow, he closes out the year with one last freebie for the fans, “Crazy.” It happens to be an older cut, previously recorded in 2010, but that just goes to show Vic had the skills back then, and we were probably all sleeping. Wake up.
Skeme nabbed a knocking beat from Boi-1da for this one. This collaboration was so insane we had to feature it onTrack Breakdownearlier this week, but we’re giving it a second look right here. Skeme’s Ingleworld album came out this past December and he comes correct on “Bullets.”
Loso came through with Soul Tape 3 this past week, on Christmas day nonetheless. It wasn’t really overlooked, but this particular collaboration with Jeremih only racked in 15k views. The slowed down cut finds Jeremih and Fabolous serenading a woman who has the perfect body—thim slick.
Technically this one dropped on Friday, December 20th but we missed it on last week’s UA so we had to give it a quick look on this edition. Chip’s been pretty low-key these past few months, so a new jam was definitely appreciated. The Domo Genesis collaboration is a self-produced cut that samples Sade’s “Cherish The Day,” as he Chip offers up some wise words. Roll up and cherish the day. Don’t settle for less just come up with better plans. Listen to the full cut for some more sound advice from both rappers. This smooth ass track will appear on Chip’s forthcoming CleveLAfornia EP.
