Cardi B takes the stage in Brooklyn.
Cardi B has gone from the fringes of the rap game to its center of attention in a short period of time. With the ascension of her hit track "Bodak Yellow" to the heights of one of the year's biggest songs, she's becoming a very popular live draw, especially in her home state of New York, where she's been treated like a conquering hero for much of the summer and fall as we move closer and closer to the holiday season. With Jimmy Kimmel Live making its way back to Brooklyn for a special run of shows this week, it's only fitting that Cardi would come through and perform her hit single for a crowd of adoring fans.
Getting a rousing round of applause after Kimmel introduces her, Cardi B's backup dancers are seen vibing to the opening instrumental bars of the song while the DJ hypes the crowd up even more. Making her entrance onto the stage through a wall of smoke, Cardi emerges clad in shiny pink bottoms and a coat that looks like it's been constructed out of about a thousand and one feather boas. Rocking some pink-rimmed shades to top the outfit off, the rapper looked every bit the part of someone who's been making money moves for the last little while. After finishing her rendition of the song, Cardi gave the crowd a "What's happening New York," before leaving the stage.
It's been quite the week for Cardi and her live performance game. Aside from her Kimmel performance, she was also one of the many big names on the bill at the third annual Tidal X benefit show, with the goal of raising funds for hurricane relief across several parts of the United States and also earthquake relief for those affected by the disastrous event in Mexico. She wowed fans with her presence and command on stage, as did the likes of Chris Brown, Fifth Harmony, Jay-Z and many more. Check out some footage of Cardi's Tidal X performance of "Bodak Yellow" below and stay another minute to watch clips from the other artists who turned up at the show, which you can find here.
