The West Coast edition of the Rolling Loud festival is going down this weekend, with many of hip-hop's biggest stars descending upon the Bay Area to wow their fans with some incredible live performances. Among the all-star group of performers yesterday (October 21st) were two young rap phenoms and close friends, Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti. The latter was brought onstage by the former to give concertgoers a fire live rendition of one of their best-known tracks and let's just say that the energy at the event was more than palpable.

Bounding around the stage, the above video showcases the pair killing a live performance of "Woke Up Like This," their collaboration that was off the same LP as "Magnolia," one of the year's biggest rap records. The crowd sang along enthusiastically with the song as well, with the DJ dropping the volume out at key moments so that the voices of those in attendance could be heard above everything else. Eventually, Uzi brought Carti out onto the stage with him, to a raucous response from everyone watching live. Playboi Carti assumed the position of stage stalker, gliding from east to west, punctuating his rhymes with guttural call-outs to the crowd. Uzi stood atop the DJ booth and fist-pumped along with Carti, their combined energy mowing over anyone who wasn't already in the partying mood. This kind of performance, for those unfamiliar with the vibe of a Rolling Loud event, help contribute to the swath of moments that make the festival series unmissable live theater.

For those who missed them perform together last night and were hoping to get another chance to see both rappers live in concert, that possibility now seems up in the air. A cryptic tweet from Uzi, which stated that he was pulling out of previously scheduled tour dates with Carti because he wanted to "focus" has led to speculation that the two won't be hitting the road at all in the end. The good news for Lil Uzi Vert fans is that, after all that, he has more new music on the way with NBA Youngboy, which was previewed on social media earlier this week.
