PartyNextDoor has been heavy with the new music releases lately. The OVO singer is gearing up to release Club Atlantis this fall, as announced by OVO Sound, however before the proper album, he seems to be ridding his coffers of dope collaborations. This one in particular, though, it should be noted appears to have come by way of its producers: Sledgren and Cardo. That pairing should bring you back to the mid 2000s real quick. Nonetheless, it comes on the heels of a collab with a fellow Taylor Gang affiliate, Ty Dolla $ign, for "Put It On Silent" as well as Jadakiss-featured "Cartier." These were preceded by an offering of solo cuts, however all of them have since been removed from PND's Soundcloud save for "Break Me Down." We'll have to wait and see what turns up on Club Atlantis, if any of these.
As for the latest PND collab, it's led by Wiz Khalifa and a smooth saxophone sample, sided by piano keys. It's dope to hear Sledgren, Cardo, and Wiz back together again -- when was the last time all three teamed up? The two producers were responsible for some key productions in the hey-day of Wiz's career, although Wiz and Sledgren reunited on the rapper's Pre-Rolleds mixtape earlier this summer, to have the trifecta together is an event in and of itself.
Wiz, for his part, has been making waves on the radio once again with another mainstream-friendly single, "Something New," featuring Ty Dolla, as well as doling out a few features-- including a very memorable one with Dave East for the Harlem native's recent EP Paranoia. Dave previously spoke to us about that studio session, calling it one of the most fun, and highest, sessions ever.
