Young Dolph lands a new partnership with Empire ahead of his new project "Role Model."
Young Dolph's been putting in that work for years at this point and all of the success he's achieved has been done on his own terms. The majority of his catalog was independently released but it looks like he's just about ready to make bigger moves. To coincide with the release of his single, "Major," Young Dolph announces his new partnership with Empire Records.
Young Dolph's just penned a multi-million dollar partnership deal with Empire that's rumored to turn into 8 figures over the deal's lifetime. The rapper explained to Billboard that he had some other really good offers, but this one allowed him to do more than just receive a bag.
"The deals I was being offered, I can’t lie, they were good. Not only is this still a multi-million dollar deal, but I can keep my masters and get a bigger percentage," he said. "This is a big deal because it’s linking the biggest independent artist and label with the biggest distribution company."
Dolph previously announced that he was turning down a $22M deal earlier this month. The rapper took to Instagram to share the predicament he was in before appearing to toss an envelope that seemed to have the contract in it. However, his new partnership with Empire is clearly a better fit for him as both an artist and a business man.
