While the Avatar sequels have been confirmed but consistently delayed, the film's director and writer James Cameron has admitted that one of the films' key stars has completed her contributions to parts 2 and 3.

Cameron, who is also known for his transcendent blockbuster Titanic, has revealed that Zoe Saldana, who voiced Neytiri in the original film, will return for the two planned sequels in his intergalactic series.

Speaking with i09, the cinematic demigod notes how "one day I’ll be working on scenes from two, the next day I’ll be working on scenes from three. And the actors come in and go, ‘Oh, we’re working on three today." The two films are slated to be unveiled in theatres in 2020 and 2021.

Cameron also admits that he has scripts completed for the fourth and fifth instalment in the franchise, but their release is contingent on how well the first two sequels perform.
