Goodbye Tomorrow's "The Way" video is epic.
Goodbye Tomorrow has been one of the most intriguing developments in hip hop this year. Their power lies in their futuristic raps, 90s computerized aesthetic, and the fact that the artists behind this project have yet to real their identity...
"The Way" video might be their greatest accomplishment to date. It turns the single from debut LP Goodbye Tomorrow: A Journey Through The Mind of a Non Believer into the soundtrack of a video game, in which our hero Q'seem sets out to defeat Zero, the overlord of Chicago who uses his ray gun to suck the color out of the world. Q'seem fights the power in hopes of restoring pigment to his city.
The anonymous artist(s) of Goodbye Tomorrow gave the following statement to Noisey:
"DønÍ¢'t givëÌ Ì inÍ tø düÌ Ì alityâ. â¸he woÍ®ld i$ not sø bâla¢k and whiteÍ. peâ«ce ât ¢omÍprømisâe... The concept of the video is the fucking truth…like, that’s the truth, that’s how the world actually is. It’s actually evil motherfuckers that are machine ass niggas that take you and program you. They wanna tame motherfuckers and put niggas into a box because if we're pre-programmed to be a certain way then it’s easier to control what we’ll think and what we do."
