Kanye West has been grieving the untimely death of his mother since 2007 as he has attempted to move forward in his life. Honestly noting how difficult the process has been, Kanye has addressed his mother Donda's memory in his music countless times. Recently, Ye tweeted that he planned to use a photo of Jan Adams, Donda's surgeon, as his upcoming album cover. The matriarch of the West family passed away suddenly after suffering complications from surgery. While her passing has always been shrouded in confusion, Jan Adams issued an open letter to Kanye West today in response to the potential album cover.

While he thanks Kanye for thinking of him for the album cover, Adams asks him to cease and desist using his image to promote the album in any way. Clarifying his decision, he writes that with Kanye's recent decision to lead with love, it is "inappropriate to drag the negativity of the past with it." The letter is generally positive aside from the declined album cover as Adams gives insight on the complications leading to Donda West's death. If Kanye's journey is truly about love as he states, Adams writes that he should reconsider using his image for the album. Ye retweeted the letter, adding, "This is amazing. Thank you so much for this connection brother. I can't wait to sit with you and start healing."

With Kanye seemingly accepting Adams' request to stop using his photo, what do you think will be the cover for his upcoming album? Read the full open letter here.
