After questioning Abel Osundario during the Jussie Smollett investigation, the Chicago Police Department has reportedly refused to return his personal belongings.

Last year, Abel and his brother Ola were deemed potential suspects for an attack on Empire actor Jussie Smollett.

Jussie stated that his attackers were white and yelled "MAGA country," but the Osundario brothers are neither white nor American. However, Jussie also said his attackers were wearing ski masks, and the investigation yielded surveillance footage of the brothers buying ski masks and a red hat.

The police raided the Osundairo's home on February 19th, which is when Abel’s personal items, including the ski mask and hat were seized.

Abel is requesting that these items be returned along with his script from Empire. He and Ola appeared as extras on the hit series. Some other items that he wants to be returned include 2 firearms, 2 iPhones, and 5 bottles of bleach.

The tables turned for the Osundairo brothers and Smollett when the attack turned out to be a hoax spun by Jussie to gain more notoriety. The actor was arrested earlier this year on charges of filing false police reports.

“I’m a fan and I love him, but if anyone else was indicted on 16 counts for committing a hoax would you want to have them represent the NAACP?” said Power Star Naturi Naughton about Smollett. “That’s not what NAACP stands for so I feel like he should kinda get canceled. I can’t believe they dropped all the counts but that’s what money and power will do for you."

Gloria Schmidt, Abel Osundairo's lawyer, stated that he’s "been patient but has now been deprived of his personal property for over a year.” She continued in the documents: “There exists no good cause for any further delay in returning his items to him."

A judge is allowing the special prosecutor to take another week to decide if Abel can retrieve his things.
