Bieber will assume the role of executive producer for the project.
Justin Bieber's acting credentials remain relatively limited, as the Canadian crooner has never fronted a Hollywood production. However, the "Let Me Love You" hitmaker is looking to break into the film industry by lending his voice to, and executive producing, an upcoming film based on the mythological figure Cupid.
Mythos Studios co-founders Scooter Braun and David Maisel will produce the project, which will detail the winged God of Love's backstory. Cupid is known for being the son of Venus, the Goddess of Love and Beauty, and Mars, the God of War. When struck by his magical bow and arrow, a person will begin to feel an insatiable desire for the first person they see.
"When this project was brought to Justin, he instantly was excited to be a part of it. Fortunately for us, like Cupid, he knows a little bit about love and mischief," reveals Braun. Maisel continues to note how "both myself and Scooter have a lifelong love of mythology and we are so excited to partner with Justin to bring the amazing, magical story of Cupid to the world."
Bieber took to Instagram to tease the film, which has no set release date.
