Lecrae's currently gearing up to drop his upcoming album this Friday. Last year, he reached new heights in his career after he dropped a memoir and penned a deal with Columbia Records. The move to sign to the major label was less for his own music and more for his independent label, Reach Records. His label is home to a slew of talented Southern rappers and singers including Aha Gazelle. While he's inching closer to dropping his major label debut on Friday, he just dropped "Whatchu Mean" featuring Aha Gazelle.
Lecrae opens up the track with a more melodic flow than usual. The production to the song features trickling bells and flutes on top of some hard hitting trap drums. Lecrae and Aha Gazelle use the track as an opportunity to shut out the haters that have tried to block them from succeeding. Aha Gazelle is Reach Records latest signee, Lecrae brings him out to showcase the skills of the 23 year old singer. Aha Gazelle sings his heart out on this song but he backs his vocals up with hard ad-libs, giving his verse a bit more of a grittier texture. While this might end up being the last song we hear from Lecrae before the album drops, it's definitely a song to build further anticipation.
The song initially premiered earlier today on Beats1 with Ebro. With All Things Work Together set to drop on Friday, Lecrae will be hitting "Good Morning America" with Tori Kelly to perform "I'll Find You" on the same day. Along with that, he'll also be hitting the road in October to promote the upcoming project. The rapper is set to start the tour off October 4th in Memphis before closing it out on December 6th in Chicago.
All I know is comma when into the summer
Work on top of work, you know we did a ton of
Movin' lowkey like we diggin' tunnels
Haters, I don't see you, on my Stevie Wonder
