Find out how much you know about one of the greatest rappers of the 21st century.
Many of the high-profile members of the 90's gangsta movement normally get lumped into the conversation of being the greatest of all time: The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur, Prodigy and, from a mogul standpoint, even someone like Diddy is often on the tips of tongues as a response. However, when considering legendary rappers whose work has made an impact almost exclusively in the 21 century, Lil Wayne deserves to be at the top of that list, or certainly close to. The Louisiana-born high school dropout has come a long way in a short time, parlaying a promising debut with the Hot Boys into what has become a storied career that includes multiple Grammy awards, ten of millions of albums sold and a unique persona that remains beloved in what is now a very crowded rap market.
Lil Wayne's impact has become wide-reaching, leaping over the walls around the music industry and seeping into several others parts of popular culture. He has appeared on multiple incarnations of the reality TV show Love & Hip Hop and even lent his voice to an animated film character called Trap Jesus (a more appropriate casting choice cannot be found). On top of all that, he's been mentioned in public speeches by former President Barack Obama and written for ESPN The Magazine. Though sometimes controversial when making comments to the press, the impact that Lil Wayne has had on the rap game and his ability to bring his music and style into more mainstream public forums cannot be denied. When his career is finally in the books, it will be looked back upon as one of the greatest that the genre has ever seen.
