A man claims DMX stood him up at a Newark gas station.
A 21-year old man alleges that he was robbed by DMX and his entourage at a Newark Exxon station Sunday morning. The man told police that he recognized the 44-year old rapper around 12:30 a.m. and approached him.
"The two had a brief conversation about rap music and during the conversation a male in DMX's entourage, showed the victim a gun and demanded the victim's money," Newark police spokesman Sgt. Ronald Glover said in a statement.
The man told police that he produced $3,200 from his pocket, which DMX "snatched" before hopping into one of four black Cadillac Escalades and peeling out of the gas station.
The man tailed the caravan and managed to write down one of the four vehicles' license plate, a quick-thinking maneuver that may well be the smoking gun that ends up implicating Dark Man X. As of 6:00 p.m. Sunday, no arrests have been made. Stay tuned for updates as the police investigation progresses.
